FPT_NORTHERN FUEL PIPELINETRANSPORTATION PROJECT (NFPT)

Cathodic protection installation

The cathodic protection current was determined by assuming 0.25% coating breakdown of the both the 14”and 12” pipelines 633 km (Phase 1 367 km. and Phase 2 266 km.) in a soil resistivity 9,930 Ohm-cm. The conservative calculations showed that in order to meet the CP current a total of 3385 magnesium anodes and 1061 Test stations will be needed.

Description

Phase I of pipeline system construction (Bang Pa-In - Kamphaeng Phet – Phichit) and Phase II (Kamphaeng Phet – Tak – Lam Pang) has divided the contracting of pipeline construction into 5 stages. Each stage of the underground pipeline construction turnkey has its starting point and finishing point at the interface point of underground pipeline construction works by applying HDD method which considered as the 6th stage of the Employer. All 5 stages of underground pipeline construction have working details according to the distance of pipeline. We procure materials, labor, tools, equipment, machines, construction, and installation of Cathodic Protection and AC Mitigation System according to 30 years of lifetime and install temporary Cathodic Protection system during construction according to 2 years designed lifetime.
